My work is inspired by the balance between what is seen, and what really exists. As an artist, my passion for portraits blossomed out of the desire to study the unique qualities of the human face. This series emphasizes the natural beauty of women and creates a surreal environment for her to live in. An environment in which she can further thrive in her beauty. The focus of the series is on the mood that the environment built within the painting emits. This intention is to give power to the women portrayed by making her in charge of her own environment. Flying birds surround the figures in order to bridge the human world with the natural world. This connection between the two forms creates an atmosphere that pushes the power of beauty within the environment. These portraits are delicate but eye catching. When people find the work beautiful, they will also find the woman in it to be beautiful.
